Wash Your Brushes!

Updated: Apr 21, 2020

Girls and boys please start washing your brushes for the love of god. If I see one more person on public transport pulling at their face with dirty hands, or people using filthy brushes or beauty blenders I may scream. It doesn’t matter what you’re putting on your face it’s never going to look its best after that assault on your skin! The £195 La Prairie skin caviar concealer foundation will look like a dodgy imitation you bought at a market if you rub it on with dirty tools! Plus you're just asking for unecessary break outs - and who wants that!?

Clean your brushes, look after them and they will look after you! I have a huge range of brushes in my kit, some more expensive than I will ever admit - but some of my favourite ones cost only a few pounds. Hygiene is what is really important to me. I look after all my kit and brushes religiously to ensure that the application is perfect for your big day.

My secret brush cleaning recipe is to mix fairy liquid with a 2 in 1 Shampoo and conditioner. Dip the wet brushes in, massage the bristles in a circular motion in the palm of your hand (hard hand can soap work just as well if you have an antibacterial one - especially on beauty blenders!) Rinse, remove excess moisture, shape the brush and dry flat. You don’t want any moisture reaching the glue that holds the hair in so it all falls out! Then enjoy how amazing your foundation and blusher look after your not mixing it with last years residue thats still lingering on your brushes!
